Psychotherapy and Counselling
The terms Counselling and Psychotherapy tend to be interchangeable these days and can be confused. Simply put, counselling is for brief work and psychotherapy is seen as longer term or more in depth therapy. As an integrative therapist; I use a wide variety of skills from different therapeutic models. By using these skills and my experience; the therapeutic treatment is then tailored to your indvidual needs. I have been trained in a wide range of different counselling and psychotherapy methods.
Hypnotherapy can be a very effective treatment for a range of unwanted difficulties. It is a brief therapy and carried out over 1 to 6 sessions. All hypnosis is self hypnosis, in other words a therapist will give you instructions to imagine things in a certain way and it is up to you to follow those instructions. It is an altered state of consciousness into which you allow yourself to enter, with the guidance of a therapist. You are in control all the time, you always know what is happening, and you can come out of the altered state at any time in the same way one can snap out of a vivid daydream.
Online Therapy and Counselling
As our lives become busier, technology has become a means for us to connect with others and to conveniently speak to people online. With this in mind, I offer online counselling through either Skype or Facetime to help you address any challenge you face without the need to meet in person. Online therapy can be useful if you travel a lot, are used to online communication or are unable to visit me in person.
