Online Counselling

How It Works

Modern technology has become a common way for us to connect with others and to conveniently see and speak to people online from wherever we are. With this in mind, I offer online counselling through either Skype, Zoom or other apps to help you without the need for you to travel to see me. Video calls can be such high quality these days and are very easy to use.

What I Offer

I am an accredited integrative psychotherapist with over 25 years experience and the internet counselling I offer is non judgemental, objective and highly professional. I see my job as actively listening to you so that you are really understood. Utilizing my skills and experience, we then go on to work collaborativly and find the best way forward for you.

The first 15 minutes of an initial session is free to give you time to decide if I am the right person to help you. The quickest way to see me is to book a convenient time or to go to the book online in the menu above. You may prefer to browse my website to see you I am and what type of therapy I offer. If you can’t see your difficulty listed then please get in touch and I will be happy to discuss if I can help.

Is Online Counselling Right For Me?

If you are familiar with using these apps and quite comfortable with talking online either with video or just voice then this may be a good option for you. Online counselling can be a useful alternative from traditional face to face sessions for those who:

  • Wish to see a therapist out of the area that you live.
  • Want an online session if you travel with work.
  • Suffering from acute agoraphobia or other condition that limits your ability to travel.
  • More comfortable with the buffer and relative anonymity by speaking to me online.
  • Have an issue that you want to deal with and don’t have the time to come and see me in my therapy room.

How To

The easiest way by far is to book a session by choosing a time that suits you in the book online section in the above main menu. You can choose a date and time that is suitable for you.

Alternatively, you can use the contact me form, email me, or if you prefer you can telephone me.

What Happens Next

When I receive your booking or enquiry you will be asked to fill out a short form to let me know the difficulties you are having.  If you have made a booking you will receive a confirmation email to let you know the time and date of your online session. I may contact you to ask you for further details from your form. At this stage my emails and contact between us is free of charge. My priority is your welfare and establishing that online counselling will be useful and appropriate for you.

We will also clarify how you wish to have your online session, how to contact you for your planned session, and any emergency contact details should we be disconnected during the session. I curently use Skype and Zoom or WhatsApp as a backup  however I can use a different method if you prefer as long as it is private and secure.

Online Therapy Starts

I contact you via the agreed method. We say hello and make sure our connection is good enough to hear and see each other clearly. I then give you time to explain what difficulty you are having and therapy begins.
